We don't want you to take our word for it. Read what others who have been to Midland and experienced all we have to offer have to say.
- We enjoyed our stay in Midland and the AirSho indeed. Everybody was totally enthusiastic about the AirSho itself, but also about the very impressive, friendliness, helpfulness, and hospitality of the CAF staff and personnel. Adrian P. Meier, Swiss CAF Fan Group, Switzerland
- You had encouraged us to take advantage of the visits to the Petroleum Museum & American Airpower Heritage Museum & we did. We were so impressed that we told many of our friends about the museums. Tyler & Betty Baber, Scottsdale, AZ
- You have helped to make us proud of the people, facilities and support in the Permian Basin district and we look forward to future meetings where we can show off your area of Texas once more. Jackie & Althea Elliott, TSFSRD Presidents, Corpus Christi, TX
- The conference brought a close estimate of about 250-a wonderful success! Anne Whitley, Region 18 Education Service Center
- At almost 100,000 people, Midland isn't really a small town, but small-town friendliness and kindness are very much alive and well in your city. I discovered that fact during my "unexpected visit" last weekend. My son and I were driving my mother's 1991 Buick from Dallas to Tucson. The car began missing before Abilene and was missing worse as we approached Midland. It literally died in the middle of Wall Street in front of Berg's Buick. Although their service department was closed on Saturday afternoon, salesman Michael King (who also gave us his home phone number in case we needed more help later in the weekend) helped us push the car into their lot and kindly spent at least 30 minutes on the phone trying desperately to find us a garage or a mechanic who was open. He finally discovered that Dave Swinney's Texaco station at I-20 and Rankin Highway was open, and a call to AAA brought a very nice man named "Silver" who towed us there. Finding Dave Swinney was a real miracle. He was not only open Saturday AND Sunday (the repairs took two days), but he was a great mechanic with a wonderful staff. His employee, Brandon Coyle, gave us a ride to the Cowboys 2 Cafe so we could get some food while the car was being worked on. And, when she realized we were careless, our sweet waitress, Leanne, arranged for another waitress, Janelle, to give us a ride back to the station after we ate. The car was not finished but was driveable, so we stayed overnight at the La Quinta Inn on Wall Street. The very pleasant night manager, Sylvia, hearing our tale of woe, gave us a room at a special summer discount rate. On Sunday, our car finished, we headed out for Tucson, most appreciative of the wonderful folks in Midland. Heartfelt thanks from a couple of Arizonans! Suzanne Higgins & Matthew Adamson, Glendale, AZ
