CVBCVB Actions

The Convention & Visitors Bureaus from both Midland and Odessa completed the site visit for the Texas United States Bowling Congress to bring their Mixed Tournament to the area in October of this year.  The CVB's combined efforts will bring around 300 teams to the Permian Basin over the duration of five weekends, bringing in more than $1 million to the area hospitality and retail industry.  We are proud to have this tournament in West Texas and for the support of both cities and the local bowling associations. Their dedication and support enabled the two cities to host the event.

In addition to the bowling tournament, Christopher Havins bid and secured the Texas branch of the National Association of Royalty Owners' June 2010 Annual Meeting.  Along with the Hilton Midland Plaza, the CVB was able to attract this event, which was very supportive of bringing the event to Midland - the heart of the petroleum industry.
