SouthwestAirlines Dear Members and Community Leaders:

Our region is once again rising to the forefront among the nation's leading metro regions! Southwest Airlines will highlight the Midland/Odessa region as part of its business series in the February 2010 issue of its in-flight magazine, Southwest Spirit.  The magazine reaches about 3.2 million affluent business and leisure travelers who use the airline to travel to more than 65 cities, 33 states and 3,400 flights a day.

Pace Communications, which publishes the magazine, estimates that the business feature on the Midland/Odessa region will be approximately 16-24 pages in length. This will be the first time our region is highlighted in the magazine, and will be devoted to showcasing growth in economic development and commerce, revitalization of the urban cores, emerging technologies and innovation, academic institutions, healthcare advances and tourism highlights. This special section will also promote the outstanding opportunities and quality of life that our area offers to businesses and individuals who call it home.

We are pleased to support the opportunity to tell our region's story and encourage you to participate.  Businesses interested in advertising in the February issue highlighting our region should contact Ellynn Adoue, Senior Account Manager, at ellynn.adoue@paceco.com  or 940-483-9223.

Sincerely,

Red Carpet 1
Red Carpet 2
On Wednesday, November 18th, the CVB had the pleasure of welcoming 25 veterans from different branches of the military to Midland for the annual Show of Support event. The veterans were escorted by the Patriot Guard motorcade and the Midland Sherriff Department. The veterans stayed at the Hilton Midland Plaza and a large group of supporters cheered and clapped as they made their way to the hotel. The CVB rolled out the red carpet and did what we could to make them know just how much we appreciate them.
