Begin your tour at the Chamber Visitors Center where you can purchase a wide assortment of George W. Bush memorabilia.  The self-guided George W. Bush Auto Tour includes visits to former residences of both the 41st and 43rd presidents of the United States.

Fredda Turner Durham Children’s Museum

On the grounds of the Museum of the Southwest, the childrens museum features three exhibit areas that stress interactive learning through pure creativity and imagination for children of all ages.  Call for program information. Admission $2. Children under 1 are free. Tuesday - Saturday: 10am to 5pm, Sunday: 2pm to 5pm, Closed Mondays.

 



Centennial Plaza

Centennial Plaza was carefully designed to be a people-oriented park. The tree lined courtyard is also the home of a 300 seat amphitheatre. A cascading water wall provides cool, refreshing relief from the West Texas sun.  The focal point of the plaza is a 143 foot, 4.5 foot tall sculpted brick wall depicting the history of Midland.  Nearby, on the south Midland Centre wall, you’ll find a bronze plaque depicting the rescue of Jessica McClure from an abandoned well in October 1987.

 



Brown-Dorsey Medallion Home

Built in 1899, the Brown-Dorsey Home is the oldest in Midland.  Many of the unusual features have been restored including the entrance hall with its beautiful art glass window in the form of a Gothic arch.
